The HK P30 in .40 S&W is a full-size double-action and single-action pistol with a polymer frame. It weighs 26.8 ounces, measures 7.12 inches overall, and has a 3.85-inch barrel with a 13+1 capacity. Two magazines come with it. A decocking button lets the hammer be lowered safely, and the interchangeable grip panels and backstraps let the shooter adjust the fit to the hand.

In Texas this pistol suits a buyer who wants one handgun for home defense, carry or range work. The factory setup has standard sights and no optic cut, threaded barrel, manual safety or grip safety, so the luminescent front sight and black serrated rear sight are what you aim with. A valid Texas License to Carry can stand in for the NICS check at many dealers, and no state permit to purchase is needed.
