The Colt 1911 Defender is a compact .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol built around the proven 1911 operating system. Its 3-inch barrel and shortened frame provide a more compact profile for carry while retaining the familiar controls and handling characteristics of a full-size 1911. Standard features include stainless steel construction, fixed standard sights, an ambidextrous manual thumb safety, and a beavertail grip safety. The pistol holds 7+1 rounds and uses Colt's Series 80 firing-pin safety system for an additional layer of drop protection.
